Got Microsoft Technet (again) this year.
Haven't made much Open Source related income -- too much Linux cathedral, not enough bazaar, on my part. ;-)
Squandered chances at goal were replaced with the abundance of yellow cards. Ouch. Interesting final. Congrats to Spain.
Good luck to both Netherlands and Spain in the FIFA 2010 World Cup Final. Let the goals flow freely. Paul the octopus vs Mani the parrot - who is right?!.
Wow. Talk about upsets in the World Cup. Nothing appears to be certain until it actually is. I am glad i am not a betting man.
Congrats Germany - the better multi-cultural team won.
Strong defense and the best finishers in the WC so far. This is what we want - GOALS, even though it was at AUS expense. :(
Argentina and their grid like play has been the most outstanding team in the World Cup tournament.
Messi had a fairly shocker when it was time to finish off those nice set plays, though.
To be quite frank, the commotion from the usage of the vuvuzela, is making the RSA Fifa World Cup 2010 sound like Carcass 2010 World Cup.
Why? Because all that noise sounds like a dead carcass with a billion blow flies around it. Buzz Buzz Buzz!
What, the commentator said something?! Couldn't hear them.
Made some subtle changes to the search section -- should work better from here on in, but let me know if there are any issues?
It appears that there are some open source penguins voting in the poll, hehe.
I want to go to Europe (again) for the summer!!
Mr Fixit will be doing some repairs to the car tomorrow if the parts arrive.
I scored some second hand electric window regulators to replace the dead ones.
Apparently it's a common thing for these to go dead.
Just to counter Google's no support for IE6, i added some tiny cosmetic enhancements to address those %5 of users that come through here via the corporate sanitised browser.
RIP IE6. Well, sooner than later, eh? ;-)
PasteOrg Simple API has been added -- now you can add your pasteorg snippets to your website.
Not much of a winter / snow sports person -- no offense to all the people who are living it up with all of that coverage in Vancouver right now -- though, i have never been skiing, and if there was snow here in Wollongong there would be something seriously messed up with the global climate.
I am looking forward to the Fifa 2010 World Cup though.. Aussie Aussie Aussie.. OI OI OI!!
The Great Australian Internet Blackout - link.
I feel it is up to me and my wife to monitor the potential internet usage of my kids, and not the Australian government.
As much as i hate the filth on the internet, i do not think that this filter will stop it from happening or being accessed -- get the culprits instead Conroy.
We live in a democratic society -- the day i want my government to do the thinking for me i will move to China.
Looks like i will be doing some studies this year -- let's hope my fear of reading thick books (Bibliophobia) does not sway my need to get some certs.
If you haven't noticed, i have made some changes to the members section:
- public profile
- got rid of the preset background colour themes and replaced them with a pick-your-own bg colour
- Font size still needs adjusting in regards to geshi.
I gather it would be more convenient if the user (read: YOU) had more control. :-)
I watched [ this ] a while back and came across it again recently, and thought i would share it.
Interesting take on Religion from an aggressive Atheist perspective. Mind you, he makes some good points. :-)
I cannot believe i sat through about 8 hours of a documentary called 'The Arrivals.'
They cover a lot of ancient and modern day conspiracies in there, too, i might add!
D'oh! Problem Exists between Chair and Keyboard, said the slightly embarrassed Aussie.
Flew back home with the family on Friday - it's great to be back in Australia - though i am pissed i did not do what someone else did, and exceed my duty-free shopping on a certain item.
Obviously too many people for customs to care what we individually had in our duty-free bags.
I am no guru when it comes to coding -- i admire the gurus out there and aspire to have the same talent.
if done correctly, i guess the great thing about coding is it does whatever you program it to do -- unlike the wife, haha.
I keep hearing good things about electric cars and that they are the wave of the future. Tesla Motors comes to mind as an catalyst to the introduction of such fairly complete and non-hybrid products.
I guess it will be an interesting decade to see what evolves and who the other players will end up being in the frontline.
I played some quakelive with the euros last night -- good to get gibbed by someone else, other than a fellow aussie.
I don't play as much -- in duration and dedication -- like i used to, but that happens when you get a little older and have a wife and kids.
Since we arrived here in Macedonia (Ohrid to be precise), i have not stopped drinking -- the good stuff, that is.
The wifey is a little concerned - but hey, we only live once! ;-)
We're going to Europe on vacation. Woohoo, we should be departing from Sydney circa the 13th of August.
